SANCTIONS
We hope that all boys will respect the people, places and property which make up Newcastle School for Boys. Failure to do so will not be tolerated, however, and the School reserves the right to employ a range of sanctions in order to maintain a safe, happy, well-ordered and civilised environment.
Serious offences may result in temporary or permanent exclusion from School. The Behaviour and Discipline Policy outlined on the pages that follow contains more details of the range of sanctions employed.
THE SENIOR SCHOOL BOYS’ CODE OF CONDUCT
As a pupil at Newcastle School for Boys, you are expected to act responsibly and co-operatively and show consideration at all times.
You have a responsibility to:
- Always do your best to treat all members of the School community with respect, courtesy and kindness
- Contribute to the high quality of learning by ensuring that you:
- arrive punctually and correctly equipped for each lesson
- use your time in class appropriately and effectively
- do not disturb teaching or the learning of others
- write down any homework, complete it and hand it in on time
- Take responsibility for your own safety and that of others. Behave calmly and sensibly around school, waiting for lessons and when not directly supervised
- Look after all property – personal and communal - and the School environment
- Take pride in your appearance, wearing uniform correctly and smartly. Be an ambassador for yourself and for the School
